The latest consultation period for Part L Building Regulations suggests the 1.2 W/m²k U-value requirement may remain in place for new build markets and 1.4 W/m²k for refurbishment, rather than pushing for performance to reach 0.8 W/m²k and 1.2 W/m²k respectively. But what is also apparent from the consultation is that it will become more difficult to achieve 1.2 W/m²k, as the methods to comply become more onerous.
